Overview
The multi-currency feature allows you to create and manage new currencies within Zaui. A new currency added to the Zaui system will need to include an exchange rate based on the system base currency.
Remember that the system base currency is configured by going to Settings > Company Info and scrolling down to the Localization Settings section.
How to Create New Currencies
- From the navigation bar, select Settings > Pricing > Currencies.
- Click on Create Currency Rate from the shortcuts panel.
- Select the Currency Name from the list of available currencies Zaui supports.
- Select the Payment Gateway you wish to process this currency through (if you have more than one).
- Click on the add button under Currency Rates. (You can add as many currency rates as you wish, as they fluctuate over time).
- Enter the currency rate equal to $1 of your base currency.
- Enter a Start (activation) Date.
- Enter an End (deactivation) Date.
- Click Save.
Your payment gateway must support payments in the currencies you create. Refer to your payment gateway to determine which currencies it can support. |
How to Edit/Update a Currency Rate
- From the navigation bar, select Settings > Pricing > Currencies.
- Select the currency you wish to update.
- Select add to drop down additional rate and date fields.
- Enter the new rate and new start and end dates (Remember to adjust the end date of the previous currency rate if necessary).
- Click Save.
Using a New Currency for Zaui Core (Back Office) Transactions
If you have determined that your payment gateway can support multiple currencies and you have successfully set up a new currency rate in your system, you can begin to transact in this currency.
- On your checkout screen in Zaui Core (Back Office), you will notice the following field above your existing payment menu.
- The currency will default to your base currency. Any currency that you have created will appear in the drop-down menu.
- As you can see below, the amount in the new currency is broken down on the screen for you, including the calculation with the current exchange rate.
- Once you select your payment method and process, the currency used will also appear in the transaction history.
Refunds will automatically be processed in the currency used. |
Using a New Currency for Online Transactions
Your customers will also have the opportunity to select from a list of currencies you have created in your system when making an online booking.
- In the online checkout screen of the online booking engine, click on the three dots located on the top right-hand corner of the window to display the Change Currency option.
- A pop-up will appear allowing the customer to select from the different currencies you have created.
- The cart will then appear in the new currency selected for the customer to complete the transaction.
