Overview
Civitatis helps travellers get the best from destinations by providing a great choice of local tours and attractions bookable on multiple devices. Civitatis' range includes temporary, exclusive, hidden-gem and even free activities.
You can automate your relationship with Civitatis using API Connectivity and Zaui's Channel Manager. API Connectivity will allow your Zaui system and Civitatis to talk to each other. Specifically, Civitatis will be able to:
- Pull availability information;
- Create new bookings;
- Update and cancel existing bookings in your Zaui system
To connect Zaui and Civitatis via the Marketplace Integration you will need to do the following steps:
- Register with Civitatis
- Enabling Civitatis in the Marketplace
- Create Civitatis as an Agency in Zaui
- Enabling the Civitatis channel in Zaui
- Obtain the Supplier ID
- Build your experience in your new Civitatis account (Creating your activity in Civitatis)
- Mapping Products in Civitatis with Zaui

Registering with Civitatis
You must have a Supplier Account with Civitatis to have your products listed and connected to your Zaui system. If you don't already have an account, you can sign up by contacting one of the emails below:

You will need to register for Civitatis to become a supplier. Please note Zaui is not involved here and cannot assist in this process.
If you haven't yet, please create product listings on Civitatis for tours/activities you are looking to offer on this marketplace. Contact your Civitatis Account Manager if you need assistance with this step.
API Connectivity with Civitatis currently only automates updates for inventory (availability), rates, booking creations, amendments and cancellations. Product content (descriptions, pictures) on Civitatis is NOT automatically updated with information in your Zaui system. We recommend you regularly check your product listings on Civitatis to ensure all information is correct and up-to-date. |
Enabling Civitatis in the Marketplace.
- From your Zaui System, go to Settings > Marketplace
- From the left menu, choose Distribution Channels and scroll to find Civitatis. Click the Civitatis Title to enter the settings
- Ensure the Enable Civitatis radio button is on and click + Save App Settings
Create Civitatis as an Agency in Zaui
All bookings created via API Connectivity automatically appear in Zaui as PAID with Voucher payment type, therefore it is important Civitatis is set up as a Wholesale Company in your Zaui system.
To set up Civitatis as a Wholesale Company:
- From the navigation bar, select Resellers > Companies > Company List. If Civitatis is not on the list of companies, click Create Company from the shortcuts panel. If it is on the list, click on it to view details.
- Fill out the Company Information section (only Company Name is required, other fields are optional).
- In the Rate Type section, select Wholesale Discount/Invoice type and leave all boxes unchecked.
- In the Rate Codes section, assign a rate code to Civitatis based on your negotiated commission/net rate with them and define to which products it applies. This will ensure your reports account for the correct Net Rate. Learn more about rate codes here.
Enabling the Civitatis channel in Zaui
By default, API Connectivity is disabled to protect your business information. As a business manager/owner, you need to enable this for each Channel Partner and define any applicable rules.
To enable Civitatis channel:
- From the navigation bar, select Resellers > Channel Partners.
- Click on "Civitatis" in the list of channel partners.
- In the Map reseller to account field within the Channel Information section, select the Civitatis company created earlier.
- Check Enable Channel box to turn this channel on.
- If you would like Zaui to also notify you via email every time Civitatis performs actions via API Connectivity (i.e. pulls a list of available activities, creates, updates, cancels bookings, etc.), check Enable Alerts box and enter email for notifications to be sent to.
If you see a message in the Channel and Exports section saying Your system has not been added to our Zaui I/O Platform. Please contact our office, please contact Zaui using this form or email connectivity@zaui.com letting us know you would like to enable the Civitatis channel. Skip this step if this message is not shown. - In the Channel Rules and Controls section, define which activities you allow Civitatis to access via API Connectivity and what rules to apply. - Don't forget to click Save.
Obtain the Supplier ID
The next step is to obtain your supplier ID. Civitatis will need this ID in order to establish a connection between the two systems allowing Zaui to update availability, capacity and price.
To obtain the Supplier ID please contact connectivity@zaui.com. Once you hear back from out team (usually within a few business hours) you can let your Civitatis representative know the Supplier ID (Zaui ID).
Create your activity in Civitatis
Civitatis will take care of uploading your product on your behalf once registration has been completed. Please speak to your Civitatis representative for more details.
Mapping Products in Between Civitatis and Zaui
Now that you have created Civitatis as a Wholesale Agency in Zaui, have enabled the channel, defined its' rules, and obtained your Supplier ID, you will have to create your activities within the Civitatis system. Once created, the Musment team will be in touch with you about which of your products on Civitatis correspond to which activities in Zaui. This process is also called Product Mapping or API Mapping. You can do this by following the steps below or you can contact your Account Manager at Civitatis for assistance.
Civitatis' finishing touches
That's it. Congratulations. Civitatis content team will review your experience page and reach out if they have any questions or concerns. Once everything looks good, they will initiate the API to pull the necessary data from your Zaui system.
Important FYI's
- API Connectivity with Civitatis currently only supports Standard, Interval and Ticket activities in Zaui. Custom, Point to Point and Rental activities as well as Packages and Merchandise Products CANNOT be connected to Civitatis.
- Your passenger types in Zaui must exactly match those listed on your Civitatis product listing for the connection to work. It is not possible to change the mapping for passenger types at this time. Zaui pricing options are cannot be connected.
- Make sure Zaui activity date ranges and start times on Civitatis are the same.
- Civitatis products with operating hours configuration are not supported by API Connectivity. Only products with start time configuration can be connected.
