Using Booking Embed and Widgets – Zaui Software Support

The Booking Embeds and Widgets page is designed to make it easy for you to generate the exact links you need for every part of your website where you want to link to your online booking engine.

We offer a range of different user experiences for you to choose from depending on the page the link will be placed on and where the potential customer is on their path to purchase.

Booking Embed and Widgets

This page is located under Settings > Online Bookings > Embeds and Widgets.

Portal

Start by selecting the portal that will be used for your link. Only active portals will appear in the list.

User Experience

This refers to the page the booking engine will link to. The available options are described below:

Single Item Page: Activity-specific or package-specific page.
Example: https://demolabs.zaui.net/booking/web/#/default/activity/40
All Categories: Home page of the Online Booking Engine (OBE) showing all system categories. Example: https://demolabs.zaui.net/booking/web/#/default/activities
Single Category: Link to category (activity group) page which can host multiple activities. Example: https://demolabs.zaui.net/booking/web/#/default/activities/category/8
Single Category Calendar: This page will show all activities in a calendar view and list activities in chronological order. Example: https://demolabs.zaui.net/booking/web/#/default/activities/category/8/availability
Transportation: This page will link directly to the Point to Point page to select your to and from routes (if you are a Transportation company).
Example: https://demolabs.zaui.net/booking/web/#/default/p2p?roundTrip=1
Gift Certificate: This page will link directly to the gift certificate purchase page. Example: https://demolabs.zaui.net/booking/web/#/default/gift-certificate
Journey Widget: This option inserts the transportation booking engine directly into your website where potential customers can check availability and create their bookings. Clicking to confirm their selection opens the Zaui booking engine where they can complete their purchase. Example: https://demolabs.zaui.com/tour/nyc-airport-shuttle-demo/
Activity Widget*: This option inserts a single activity page of the Zaui booking engine directly into your website where potential customers can check availability and make their selections. Clicking to confirm their selection opens the Zaui booking engine where they can complete the purchase. Example: https://demolabs.zaui.com/tour/rocky-river-raft-grizzly-viewing-tour/

Embedding Method

Below the User Experience menu, the embedding method references how the booking now button will populate on the OBE. Below are the available methods:

Embedded Overlay Button: This references an iFrame that populates as a modal window on top of your website. This is the preferred method of integration.
Button HTML: This is a redirect page, customers will be taken off of your website with this integration.
Direct Link: This will populate a link for the booking engine; you can use this to give a commission or wholesale agents a specific link to the booking engine.

Advanced Options

Use Advanced Options to add additional parameters to the links you are creating:

Default Activity Date: Add this parameter for situations where activities are available for booking before the seasonal start date. This will bring the user to the first available date if they are looking to book ahead of time. After this date passes, they will be directed to the current, or next available date.
Auto-apply Promo Code: Add this parameter so that when qualifying activities are added to the cart, the promo code is automatically applied to the booking.
Affiliate Link: Use this parameter to generate a unique link that can be shared with a commissioned company or agent and will automatically attribute the booking and apply commission upon check-out. Check out How to use the Online Booking Engine for Agent Sales for more information.

Theming

Adjustments to the look and feel of your booking engine can be made from within the booking portal. Go to Settings > Manage Internet Bookings > Manage Portals and look for the section labelled Internet Booking Branding Management.

Here, you will find several options to control the theming of your booking engine: primary colour, secondary colour and the font colour for your Zaui Online Booking Engine, and select from one of 30 font family types to match that of your website.
