What is Copernican?
Copernican allows your guests to add Cancellation+ to their booking, offering flexible cancellation options. This feature helps reduce refund disputes and improves customer satisfaction by providing a clear cancellation process beyond the typical non-refundable policies.
Adding Copernican to Your Zaui System
- Navigate to Settings > Marketplace > Productivity.
- Click on Copernican to enter the settings.
- Click the Enable Copernican radio button.
- Click +Save App Settings.

Once enabled, contact your Copernican representative to:
- Customize the cancellation policy for each activity.
- Amend the confirmation email sent to guests who purchase Cancellation+.
- Provide guidance on how to process cancellations for guests using this feature.
Creating Cancellation+ as a Product in Your Zaui System
Before creating the Cancellation+ product, you must first set up a Product Category.
Step 1: Create a Product Category
- Navigate to Products > Product Category.
- Click Create Category from the left menu.
- Name the category and check:
- Always publish to default booking engine
- Available on Zaui API
- Click Save.
Step 2: Create the Cancellation+ Product
- Navigate to Products > Product List.
- Click Create Product and enter the name Cancellation+.
- Select the Product Category you just created.
- Uncheck Publish to Internet? – This hides the product from direct purchase and only shows it as an optional add-on when booking an activity.
- (Optional) Check Available online for any activity/tour? if Cancellation+ should be available for all tours.
- Under Pricing Information, select the price type (flat rate or percentage) and enter the value.
- Under Inventory Configuration, select Allow a free sell to ensure Cancellation+ is always available.
- Click Save.
Adding Copernican to an Activity
- Navigate to Activities > Activity List > [Selected Activity].
- Click the Additional Settings tab.
- Scroll down to Merchandise Products Available on this Activity/Tour.
- Click + Add.
- Select Cancellation+ from the product list.
- Click Save.
Now, when a guest selects an activity to book, Cancellation+ will appear as an optional add-on in a pop-up window.
Amending the Activity Cancellation Policy
- Navigate to Activities > Activity List > [Selected Activity].
- Click the Additional Settings tab.
- Scroll down to Activity Specific Cancellation/Reservation Policy.
- Update your cancellation policy to reflect the Cancellation+ option.
- Click Save.
Amending Your Email Notifications
- Navigate to Settings > Notifications.
- Select the notification template you want to edit (e.g., Zaui Default Booking Confirmation).
- Scroll down to the email content section.
- Add a message about Cancellation+ above the Print Tickets button.
- Click Save.
